Friedrich has a wonderful voice, well modulated and nuanced, and he makes himself quite likeable despite his single-minded seduction of poor Annabella. Most remarkable of all, he transcends his bizarre hairstyle and comes across as almost normal: Normal, in this case, being refreshing.
Vallet does a little shaking thing with her hand early on that brilliantly foreshadows her dissolution, and she employs a throaty laugh that hints at desperation. Both her anxiety and her pleasure play at the edges of hysteria. Her extreme discomfort is discomfiting.Sexy School Girl Costumes

In Annabella's self-flagellation scene, the pattern on her dress looks a little like blood stains. All the women wear platform stilettos.
